I expected this to be a gritty scrub with AHA because of the name, but it's actually more like a gentle foaming cleanser with AHA! Once it hits wet skin, it turns into a soft, fluffy lather, just like the marshmallow name suggests. A little goes a long way since it lathers up so well, and it feels super gentle going on. I can tell my skin is squeaky clean while rinsing, but it doesn't feel dry or tight after. This was a pleasant surprise, fun, effective, and I love it.
I always take a picture of the ingredients of a skin care product and run it through Decode INC which analyzes ingredients and give you information on them. This product's ingredients are top-notch! There are a ton of goodies and superstars and nothing yucky. However, I am a post-menopausal woman with sensitive skin and there is walnut powder in the ingredient list.
Walnut powder is a great natural exfoliant, but with older thinner skin, not so much. I just took a shower and used it on my arms and it so felt wonderful, I wanted to do my entire body! I didn't feel any strong abrasion, my skin felt so soft and silky. After trying it out on my arms, I am comfortable using this on my face, but I will start out every three days, just as a precaution.
Thought this would be a great exfoliator for a spa experience at home my only issue is that they use walnut powder, whereas I would prefer something like a sugar or salt scrub. Walnut powder can be too abrasive for the face, but is probably still OK for the body!
